After seeing the actual context behind the image, it is surprising to find out it wasn't doctored at all, but rather a mural with someone scaling it during installation. The piece gives a melancholy vibe, due to the color palette as well as the girl's somber expression. I believe the title "The Last Girl" is exemplary maybe of where he thinks humans are going.

This image is of a man climbing a woman's face as if he were rock climbing. This is an artistic image that was clearly photoshopped. The intent was likely just to make a cool looking image, as I can't think of any "deep" meaning behind someone climbing someone's face. The scale is essential to the illusion.
